Programme Manager, Gender Advocacy, Networking and Communications


Job Description / Responsibility
  • Review all the documents including BRAC’s strategic documents, women empowerment framework, gender analysis framework, gender policy, GoB policies, SDG, PRSP and the lessons learned from BRAC interventions and develop the advocacy strategies and operational guidelines
  • Unpack the technical issues and suggestions of way forward around the selected advocacy topics, and bring these to the senior management meetings at which time plans will be developed to best implement agreed initiatives
  • Provide support to field level teams on advocacy related actions as agreed in the management meetings
  • Lead the process of development overall training modules by providing texture of advocacy issues and facilitate the sessions
  • Provide technical guidance to the communication and publication team and other media engagement team on selected advocacy issues and support appropriate application in the program
  • Lead and represent BRAC’s gender advocacy initiatives to disseminate the best practices of the organization and program’s at the national, regional and global level
  • Identify the potential stakeholders at national level to build purposeful relationships towards alliance building with identified advocacy issues
  • Coordinate the networks/ alliances which is led by BRAC
  • Represent BRAC at different workshops, seminars and discussion sessions
  • Review the identified advocacy issues and chalk out the plans of implementation in light of the overall advocacy strategies
  • Keep track of progress of the advocacy initiatives and provide guidance to the team for improvement and have close contact with the national/ global networks and identify the appropriate advocacy issues and develop implementation plan
  • Lead developing reports as and when required
Job Nature


Educational Requirements
    Masters in Statistics/ Development Studies/ Gender Studies from any recognised national/ international university with minimum 2nd class/ division in all academic examination
Experience Requirements
  • At least 7 year(s)

  • Age At most 42 year(s)
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience is required. Extensive campaigns experience regarding to use policy, research, lobbying, media and digital platform is needed. Understanding and wide ranging experience of employing communication techniques and tools to influence an advocacy agenda is required
  • Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to successfully manage complex and sensitive organizational relationships to achieve cross-organisational, collectively agreed goals;
  • Ability to travel extensively and demonstrate leadership skills in a team-oriented environment;
  • Have excellent proficiency in Bangla and in English;
  • Strong linkage and networking with forums/ influential actors/ different electronic and print media
  • Commitment to BRAC’s values and a working style to achieve common goals
