Reducing Dietary Related Risks Associated with Non-communicable Diseases in Bangladesh` is an action research project is funded by International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada and led by a reputed national NGO based in Dhaka. The Project Manager is the Head of Operations of this project and primary point of contact, and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating project operations and providing support to activities that are conducted in the Upazillas/Unions of Moulvibazar, Sylhet, Sunamgonj, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Pabna, and Khulna districts. S/he will be responsible for assuring achievements of project implementation objectives, activities and targeted results. Under the overall leadership and guidance of Principal Investigator of this project s/he will lead the effort to ensure full collaboration of the other partners e.g. University Manitoba (UM), Canada, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), Dhaka University, (DU) and Chanel I.
Project Information: `Reducing Dietary Related Risks Associated with Non-communicable Diseases in Bangladesh` project will lead coordinated actions to effectively promote balanced diet and vegetable consumption and associated benefits across multiple stakeholders (e.g. consumers, producers, and healthcare systems) for reducing dietary related risks associated with NCDs. The project will work with women-led cooperatives, school students, youth groups, and the private sector, directly reaching more than 30,000 populations. A consortium of a non-government organization, a government research institute, and a Bangladeshi university will lead the project. They will mobilize 2 major government divisions and the private sector to build small and medium vegetable enterprises to promote balanced dietary habit in Bangladesh. The collective work will serve to increase significantly the income of more than 28,000 farmers in Bangladesh and purchasing capacity of many more to buy vegetables and other less processed food along the value chain.

Job Description / Responsibility
Maintain field level accounts
Prepare all sorts of Vouchers of all transactions with proper supporting documents
Perform and maintain banking related issues including Bank Reconciliation Report
Maintain General ledger, Cash & Check book, Advance register, and Petty Cash
Check and make payment Travel Expenses Reports, Conveyance bill etc.
Arrangement of different logistics support services such as stationeries, photocopying, vehicle, refreshments, office cleaning, etc.
Affix Revenue Stamp; Deduct Income taxes at source as applicable, and deposit to Govt. treasury
Prepare monthly Financial report with necessary supporting and timely submission
Assist Annual external audit, reviews as well as internal monitoring
Maintain Fixed asset registers, stock register, ensure affix ID numbers, and keep track of items
Filling and preservation of financial vouchers, HR related files in a confidential manner
Prepare monthly salary sheet of all field level staff and ensure timely bank transfer
Ensure and arrange timely disbursement of fund cheques/cash flows
Keep contact with HO based designated Accounts Officer on required basis and response immediately against queries
Any other activities as assigned
The position is reportable and accountable to Project Manager (PM).
Bachelor/Masters in Accounting/Finance/Management or any relevant discipline
At least 3 year(s)
At least 3 years’ experience in working with accounts and administration department of development sector firms
The candidate should have good knowledge on Accounting Practice, Income Tax, VAT and custom rules of Bangladesh.
Must be capable of handling and managing Accounts, Audit, VAT, Project Costs, Income Tax matters etc.
Capable in preparing budgets, budgetary control and financial reports
Having non-discriminatory and gender sensitive perception
Should have good command in both written and spoken English
Should have excellent working knowledge of MS Office & MS Excel
