Job Context
  • British Council invites applications for the position of Teaching Centre Client Relations Officer, Bangladesh
  • Role Purpose:
  • To act as a representative of the Business Training team, providing a high level of support to corporate clients, from customer relations management (CRM) to after-sale service, as well as business support to the Head of Business Training. The Client Relations Officer will be responsible for helping the Business Training team meet its KPI targets relating to sales and CRM.
  • The Client Relations Officer will also be responsible for organising and supporting the delivery of two (or more) CELTA courses each year, which are training courses for teachers of English as a foreign language.
Job Description / Responsibility
  • 1. SALES
  • To meet and exceed all sales targets and KPIs as set out by the organisation.
  • – Front line sales:
  • To guide corporate clients through the customer journey from first enquiry to final sale, through supporting the Head of Business Training. The postholder will also need to maximise opportunities for cross selling and will be responsible for compiling data on quarterly pre-sale performance.
  • -Customer relations management (CRM) and following up on former leads:
  • To provide support to the Head of Business Training in the pre-sale process, e.g. writing basic proposals, and then after-sale service through to the end of the customer journey, e.g. preparing course materials for the trainer. The Client Relations Officer is also responsible for following up with customers who previously showed an interest in our Business Training services.
  • – Product Knowledge:
  • To acquire and maintain an excellent level of product knowledge at all times. Liaison and training via product owners will be a necessary part of this with a proactive approach required at all times. Observation of Business Training classes and ‘hands on’ experience of the products is required.
  • -Market awareness:
  • To acquire and maintain an excellent database of information about corporate training and teacher training service providers in the market.
  • -Database Management & Record Keeping:
  • To maintain and update all databases and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • -Sales & Marketing Support:
  • To participate and/or provide sales support at all sales and marketing events (in or out of the centre) with the purpose of creating awareness and generating leads for the centre, with respect to Business Training and CELTA courses.
  • -Finance:
  • To keep an accurate record of the financial details of all Business Training contracts and CELTA payments (B2C).

Job Requirements
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English (IELTS 6.5+ minimum; IELTS 7.5+ desirable) and Bengali (C2 / native speaker)
  • Sales techniques
  • Competent IT skills
  • Basic understanding of SAP and CRM systems
  • At least a year’s experience in sales, preferably in the services industry
